The difference

What a template can’t give you.

A few things that make our work hard to copy. We’ll show you what they do. How we do them stays in the workshop.

Rare on purpose

Where the difference shows.

A deceptive pattern (or dark pattern) is a design trick that nudges you into something you didn’t mean to do. Think fake countdown timers, boxes ticked for you, surprise fees at checkout, or a cancel button you can’t find. More plain-English terms.

Open about what you get and what we won’t do; quiet about how we do it. A chef prints the menu, not the recipes.

New to all this? Websites, explained decodes the jargon and shows how to check any site yourself.
